Islamabad (Correspondent, APP): Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, National Heritage, and Culture, Attaullah Tarar, has emphasized that Pakistan, as a responsible nuclear state, seeks peace with all its neighbors. He asserted that economic stability and development are unattainable without peace, underscoring the country’s commitment to working towards peace and national development.
Speech at National Security and Foreign Policy Report Launch
The Federal Minister made these remarks while speaking at the National Security and Foreign Policy report launch event held at a local hotel. He highlighted that foreign coverage has been the authorities’ pinnacle precedence over the past months. Tarar proudly mentioned Pakistan’s recent election to the United Nations Security Council with 182 votes, marking a substantial fulfillment inside the US’s foreign policy. This renewed membership underscores the growing effectiveness of Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts.
Strengths and Strategic Goals
Minister Tarar pointed out several unique strengths that set Pakistan apart from other nations. He noted that 66% of the country’s population comprises youth, presenting a vast potential market, especially in the IT sector. He emphasized that the Middle East views Pakistan as an ally, highlighting the country’s preference for peace over conflict.
CPEC and Relations with China
The Minister also discussed Pakistan’s renewed strategic engagement with China. He said that in the current visit to China, Pakistan focused on launching Phase Two of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The Prime Minister reiterated the same coverage before the visit, underlining the importance of this partnership. China views Pakistan as a significant market, particularly in the IT field. Tarar mentioned that strong bilateral ties sometimes lead to targeting Chinese nationals in Pakistan.
