ECNEC Approves 19 Projects Balochistan , Sindh Development

The National Economic Council Executive Committee ECNEC Approved 19 Projects convened under Prime Minister Ha-woos’s chairmanship. This session, overseen by the Prime Minister’s demanding schedule, saw active leadership from Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar. The committee made significant strides by approving 19 projects, reflecting a commitment to national development and strategic investment across various sectors.

Transparent Resource Management for ECNEC Approves 19 Projects

Among the key approvals, the ECNEC greenlit four critical components of the Integrated Flood Resilience and Adaptation Program (IFRAP). This program, supported by a substantial $400 million World Bank fund, aims to enhance infrastructure resilience and adaptability to mitigate the impacts of flooding. It includes allocations for constructing new and rehabilitated housing units, foundational frameworks for road infrastructure, economic support mechanisms, and fundamental water management structures. These actions must be taken to ensure that development continues even when faced with environmental challenges.

The Leader Board of Trustees of the Public Monetary Committee (ECNEC) has supported Rs 11.2 billion for different new plans in Balochistan under the Public Area Advancement Program (PSDP) for the monetary year 2024-25. The primary goal of this financing is to conceal framework deficiencies and work on personal satisfaction, which will result in financial success across the region.

Strengthening Accountability in ECNEC Approves 19 Projects

Similarly, several projects in Sindh received approval during the ECNEC session. These include a scrutinized emergency housing project, the Green Line BRTS operational review with a revised PC-1 costing PKR 13.502 billion, and the endorsement of the New Gwadar International Airport’s reviewed PC-1 for operational implementation.

Moreover, the committee deferred the up-gradation of ML-1, suggesting Pakistan Railways focus on smaller projects and packages for specific funding and implementation.

Moreover, under the Prime Minister’s program for Hepatitis C elimination, ECNEC has also approved 68.25 billion PKR, ensuring a balanced cost-sharing mechanism between the federal and provincial governments.

ECNEC Approves  Monitoring and Achieving Development Goals

These decisions taken by ECNEC have highlighted the socio-economic development and infrastructure improvement in various regions of Pakistan. To foster sustainable development practices, bridge development gaps, promote regional integration, and stimulate economic growth in Balochistan and Sindh provinces, projects have been given priority by ECNEC. Such steps are vital as they help address socio-economic disparities while at the same time enhancing the resilience of infrastructure towards disruptive events of natural or human origin.

Efficient resource utilization requires transparently managing projects during implementation to ensure they deliver the intended social benefits. Stakeholders must uphold accountability without compromise, especially in fund allocation. Strengthening execution monitoring under ECNEC’s close supervision is crucial for achieving measurable outcomes and fostering inclusive development across Pakistan.

summery

The recent approvals addressed Pakistan’s development priorities, including building resilient infrastructures and fostering regional integration. ECNEC will prioritize critical sectors and regions to catalyze national economic growth while improving living standards across the country through sustainable practices. In this regard, it is necessary that all concerned parties, both at the federal government level and up to the provincial government, work together without any further delay until every Pakistani citizen starts benefiting from approved projects that shall serve them well over a long time.
