Starting July 1, 2024, the primary electricity tariff for protected consumers will increase by 51%, while for “unprotected” consumers, it will increase by up to 43%.
Remarkably, the federal government continues to impose the bulk of public power costs on its citizens. After a substantial hike in its basic tariff, the government has raised the cost of electricity under fuel price adjustment every month. The monthly power bill will now have an additional Rs3.32 per unit.

Even the poorest and most protected consumers are noted to be affected. Those who consume 1 to 100 units will experience an increase in basic tariffs. After the rise, the price for protected users using up to 100 units of Electricity will go up from 7 rupees 74 paise to 11 rupees 69 paise per unit.
