Explosions rocked a number of Beirut, Lebanon, and its eastern and southern parts, which fell under Hezbollah’s control. Funeral Interruption Because of Another Explosion
One of the explosions on Wednesday took place when people gathered for a mass to mourn many of those who died during the explosion on the previous day. A journalist with Reuters who was in the southern suburb of Beirut, where there is a concentration of Hezbollah, reported that Hezbollah women hurriedly pulled batteries from walkie-talkies to prevent other family members from causing additional explosions. Observers from state media and AFP offices in Beirut also reported the blasts from southern and eastern Lebanon, areas controlled by Hezbollah.
Lebanese officials have blamed Israeli officials for the explosions. While there has not been an official response by Israeli officials, a source from the US confirmed that there was a debrief with American officials on the operation after the pager explosions on Tuesday. Hezbollah has promised an attack in retribution for the violence, but details of how much force and how soon are still unclear.

Pagers! How did the pagers bang?
Gold Apollo, the Taiwanese company whose logo appeared on the pagers, claimed it had no involvement in manufacturing the products. Instead, Bac Consulting KFT, located in Hungary, produced the pagers. In an explosive twist, Lebanese and US media reports had uncovered that Israel’s intelligence agency, the Mossad, had planted devices in thousands of pages ordered by Hezbollah before the blasts, which took place months later. Experts noted that the explosives were small, with some devices containing only about one to two ounces, while others had a minimal amount attached and were detonated remotely.
The increasing confrontation between Israel and Hezbollah connects these bombings as both prepare for a revenge strike in the coming days.
