Court Criticizes Anti-Corruption in Kidnapping Case

 

The court regretted the acts of the Director General (DG) Anti-Corruption. It said that this matter is very sensitive, adding that immediate recovery of the kidnapped MNA should be done. DG Anti-Corruption said they do not have weapons, and the court expressed dissatisfaction. Justice Najafi asked the DG about his integrity by saying, “How “ill people trust you? Don’t hand over suspects to your custody if you deal like this”.”

The court also asked the Inspector General (IG) of the Punjab Police about Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for such cases. The IG replied that the police have categorized suspects and support the Anti-Corruption Department in conducting raids. However, the court found no trace of the missing MNA even after six days.

In a related development, Justice Ali Baqar Najafi directed the regisregistrar’sce to fix PTI MNA Sanaullah MastiMastikhel’stion against the anti-corruption notice before another bench. Sattar Sahil, Assistant Advocate General Punjab, suggested assigning this case to Justice Shahram Sarwar Chaudhry, Justice Shahram Sarwar Chaudhry. The same judge who heard a similar case earlier.
