Prime Minister Approves Budget Proposals, Stresses Confidentiality
Budget proposals for the upcoming fiscal year were approved during a cabinet meeting chaired by the PM. PM Shahbaz instructed all officials to leave except ministers, emphasizing the need for confidentiality. A committee’s initial report on reducing non-essential expenditures was presented. Recommending the filling of all vacant positions within a year to save national funds and introducing a pension system for new government employees.
A high-powered committee, empowered by the PM, will submit a comprehensive report within ten weeks. PM Shahbaz announced plans for constructing an international-standard. Health Tower in Islamabad through a public-private partnership. Along with a third-party audit of laboratories and procurement of new medical equipment and implants for hospitals.
