Lahore: Pakistani morning show host Nida Yasir has shared an exciting and seldom-known facet of her childhood that adds another dimension to her describing herself even more. Her mother, who had not even entertained the thought of such a union, took what her daughter suggested very seriously. “My mother had never actually set eyes on her, but after I identified her, she began considering her,” Nida recalled. Exceptionally, the mother believed in her little daughter’s fencing faculties, which made Nida compellingly match the two in the arrangement, thus scoring a victory for the first time in her match-making career.
A devotion exceeding the playground
Nida’s matchmaking instincts did not cease at her uncle’s wedding; instead, they continued within the walls of her apartment building, where she was bringing other families and neighbors together. “In the apartment, I was able to arrange three or four matchmaking processes,” said Nida, looking back to her days. It was an inborn talent, for such arrangements were successful, and they made happy unions.”
This ability and passion for matchmaking at such a tender age is not merely an endearing anecdote from Nida’s childhood but is a confirmation of her sociability skills. These skills would later be helpful in her role as a television host. “As a kid, I harbored some obsessive interest in having couples bonded, that I would also recommend to my mother some matches,” she jokingly asserted. Nida told her mother, ‘What if that boy marries that girl? Is it not a perfect match?’ and laughed.
