Bilawal Bhutto Denies Rigging, Calls for Transparency

Pakistan People’s Party. He denied the accusations of rigging during the elections conducted on February 8th as the worst he had ever experienced. Mr Bhutto revealed that the PPP has always faced rigging in all previous elections, which everyone sees on Facebook or Twitter. He called for an immediate end to this act.

Mr Bilawal also stressed that political leaders must come together not only to secure a fair and accessible election but to accept its results. He expressed his firm reservations over hearing right now going on in courts about electoral cases of PPP in different constituencies of Balochistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Karachi, therefore arguing for the introduction of safeguards for PPP in every election.

Opposition to Hostile Taxation Increases Bilawal Bhutto

He clarified that their objection is not against escalating the net taxes but hostile taxation. PPP’s objections prevented the imposition of taxes on solar energy and ruled out any plans to tax electricity from solar power plants. He criticized the lack of consultation with all parties, including allies, before presenting the budget at the assembly.

Security Concerns and Development Initiatives in Balochistan

During a press conference at Quetta, Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sanaullah Zehri accompanied him, and he highlighted the levying of taxes mainly on the poorest sections, urging for a review. The increased charges for those earning one lakh rupees per month upped their bills by a hundred per cent, while those who earned twenty lahks per month only saw a four per cent increase. Mr Bhutto added: “A clear stand will be taken about terrorism” and participate in a national conference about Operation Azm-e-Istaqam.”

Socio-Economic Reforms and Public Welfare

Chairman Bilawal Bhutto also highlighted the plans for accessible health facilities in Quetta for flood-affected people similar to those of Sindh and the construction of a hospital in Nasirabad. He proposed interest-free loans for women and declared ownership rights would be granted to them. Additionally, he announced an increase in educational and employment opportunities for Balochistan’s youth, along with providing emergency services like Rescue 1122 in all districts and establishing a People’s Bus Service in Balochistan.

Commitment to Transparency and Electoral Reforms

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto announced PPP’s long-standing commitment to electoral transparency and reforms but criticized political parties’ shifting stances on these critical issues. Besides, he underlined that all the parties must remain focused on public problem-solving by delivering parliamentary services to ensure prosperity, especially in Balochistan.
