Balochistan Development: Unity Needed, Says Interior Minister

 

Federal Minister of the Interior Mohsin Naqvi has called attention to the relationship between sustainable peace and Balochistan’s prosperity. In recent remarks, he declared that enduring development in Balochistan depends on establishing an unchanging peace throughout this area. For sustainable progress in Balochistan, Minister Naqvi insisted that all actors come together around common goals and work collectively towards their achievement.

The Need for Holistic Youth Empowerment

Minister Naqvi emphasized the need for holistic youth empowerment. He stated that young people in Balochistan represent a significant portion of the province’s future, so we must equip them with education, employment opportunities, and skills necessary for overall provincial advancement. The minister urged government departments at all levels, including district governments, to coordinate with local leadership and community organizations to create environments where youths can thrive and positively contribute to nation-building.

Visit Frontier Corps South Headquarters:

During his visit to Frontier Corps South Headquarters, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi was warmly received by Major General Bilal Sarfraz Khan – Inspector General Frontier Corps South. The visit included laying a wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial, followed by offering prayers for martyred personnel who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty for this country’s defence against external aggression or internal subversion.

Briefing On Security Operations Balochistan Development

Ongoing security operations are targeting the Kharijites, and the FC South region is conducting anti-smuggling efforts as part of these operations. This organization, responsible for maintaining law enforcement duties along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border, focuses on areas like the Chaman–Quetta route, where most smuggling activities occur. Smugglers and terrorists frequently use these porous borders, which lack control, to destabilize peace in Pakistan. This situation causes fear among nearby civilians due to ongoing counter-insurgency military campaigns against terrorist elements hiding within local communities.

Performance & Achievements Balochistan Development

Frontier Corps South’s performance has been lauded by the Interior Minister, who praised its role in peacekeeping and anti-smuggling activities. He commended officers’ dedication and soldiers’ bravery while on duty at various locations throughout Balochistan province, where they are stationed, to maintain security within troubled spots prone to criminality or other illegal acts detrimental to regional stability. During the last six months alone, FC South seized contraband worth around PKR 4.7bn ($30m), indicating success achieved so far vis-à-vis effectiveness of measures implemented coupled with the determination shown by the personnel involved during such operations aimed at stopping smuggling into/out from Afghanistan through Pakistan via this route.
