Smugglers and terrorists frequently use these porous borders, which lack control, to destabilize peace in Pakistan. Frontier Corps South’s performance has been lauded by the Interior Minister, who praised its role in peacekeeping and anti-smuggling activities. During the last six months alone, FC South seized contraband worth around PKR 4.7bn ($30m), indicating success achieved so far vis-à-vis effectiveness of measures implemented coupled with the determination shown by the personnel involved during such operations aimed at stopping smuggling into/out from Afghanistan through Pakistan via this route.
