Rich creator’s vision of Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6 as an AI-created trailer is delighting social media users who’re now craving the release of the second official trailer.
Fans Recreate the First Trailer
Last year, Rockstar Games publicly aired the first GTA 6 promo and announced that the events in the game will take place in a fictional Vice City, which is a parody of Miami, and the gamers will have fun playing as the first female character in the franchise. From that moment, the concern over the second trailer only fuelled.
A Side-by-Side Comparison Goes Viral
A post on social network Reddit featured a video that put the original GTA 6 trailer against the AI altered version made by a fan. It juxtaposed well known segments of the original and the fan made video, which began with the same scene of the main character Lucia in prison, then cut to Jason and Lucia going inside the shop, interspersed with scenes of Ocean drive packed with extravagance.
Clearly, the fan-made version trailer is quite visually attractive on a technical perspective. However, the final clip, as well as the whole indie movie, incorporates multi toned images as well as over colored scenes rendering very nice but relatively extreme image style.
Reactions from Fans
The trailer made by AI brought out many opinions on the web. One user wrote, “You can keep the AI crap. Rockstar’s artists are going to give us a heavenly experience which AI will never reach however complex the algorithm.”
One more commentator tried to see ‘the bright side of it’ by commenting on the grey clouds, declaring, “This is only the beginning. One or two years and we will be able to have these visuals generated in real-time – at 60 frames per seconds or even more. It means we will be playing GTA 5 and 6 with a pleonastic life-like graphics.”
Needless to add, there were people, who were not impressed with this trailer at all. A third user, one more described how bad the AI-generated recreation was: “This is literally just someone running game footage through some AI program, it looks like. The actual game running on better hardware will look light years ahead of this.”
GTA 6 Release Date and Platforms
Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, announced earlier this year that GTA 6 is projected for release around Fall 2025.
Rockstar confirmed that GTA 6 will launch for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S but did not provide details about the release date for the PC version.
The Final Idea
Oh, the trailer of the latest GTA 6 hurriedly made by AI has provoked quite a lot of enthusiasm and a great deal of nay-saying. While the waiting fans still look forward to the next official teaser, the online video went viral, only reinforcing conversations about the use of technology in the gaming industry as well as the expectations from Rockstar Games’ new blockbuster.
