Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz has approved the most extensive restructuring of ministries and departments in history. A special high-level committee comprising 14 members will prepare recommendations within 60 days.

The authorities expect Senior Clergyman Punjab Maryam Aurangzeb to lead the rebuilding panel. According to the public authority’s representative. They aim to rightsize organizations that are no longer necessary or productive financially and eliminate multiple entities doing similar things. Reducing the size of ministries will make the administration of government affairs more accessible. The restructuring and downsizing are expected to streamline public service delivery, making it more straightforward, faster, and efficient. This initiative is projected to save billions of rupees, significantly reducing annual government expenditures and creating financial flexibility.
Expansion of Free Wi-Fi Services PunjabÂ
By directives from the Chief Minister, the scope of Lahore’s free Wi-Fi service has been expanded by an additional 100 points. The Punjab Safe City Authority has increased the active points of the “CM Maryam Nawaz Free Wi-Fi” from 100 to 200. Free Wi-Fi services have been launched in various areas, including Manga Mandi, Multan Road, Bund Road, Chuhng, Shahpur Kanjran, Sundar, Valencia, and Maraka.
Benefits and Usage
Maryam Nawaz stated that citizens are provided an emergency free Wi-Fi service under the Digital Punjab Vision. This service will enable citizens to contact police and family members during emergencies. The free Wi-Fi service allows users to use the Women’s Safety App, Punjab Police App, and WhatsApp. Each free Wi-Fi device in Lahore ranges up to 300 feet from the respective point, facilitating the download of various applications. You can also use the service to book taxi rides; however, it is unavailable for entertainment apps such as Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok.
Praise for Eid-ul-Azha Arrangements
Maryam Nawaz praised public representatives, administration, waste management companies, municipal institutions, and police for their excellent arrangements during Eid-ul-Azha. She noted that the efficient management of cattle markets facilitated buyers and sellers. Security arrangements in Eidgahs, mosques, and Imambargahs were satisfactory. Provincial Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafiq and his team demonstrated commendable performance, with commissioners, deputy commissioners, and other waste management administrators fulfilling their duties admirably.

Maryam Nawaz expressed pride in her team’s performance, highlighting that the dream of a clean Punjab is becoming a reality.
