In a recent case before the Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench, which allows both parties to represent themselves, the plaintiff, the wife of former Adiala Jail Deputy Superintendent Muhammad Akram, withdrew her petition for her husband’s recovery after the police filed a report. There was progress in the case as to the sudden disappearance of Muhammad Akram which raised apprehension from his relatives.
Background of the Case
Muhammad Akram, the former Deputy Superintendent of Adiala Jail, has been missing for the past two months. His family, especially his wife, searched everywhere for his safety. Just three days ago, authorities reported that he was in the custody of the Anti-Corruption Establishment in Sheikhupura, where they placed him on physical remand for three days in an anti-corruption case.
Court Proceedings
During the hearing, the husband and his wife represented by Counsel Imaan Mazari, and the police officials all attended the court. The recovery of the petition made by the wife of Muhammad Akram, requesting for the hearing to resolve the ongoing debate of the whereabouts of the child was also heard and granted.
The Inspector of police and other officers addressed the bench and presented to the court a comprehensive progress report.
