Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Leak Specs & Galaxy S25 Ultra Details

One recently uncovered leak has illustrated the component structure of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, which will be the processor of the Galaxy S25 Ultra next year. This also brings additional information on the application processor AP. However, information and leaks confirm that there will be 2 SoC variants: SM8750 with mmW band and SM8750P being Wi-Fi-capable only. Besides the latter, only the SM8750 bears mmWave 5G and sub-6th frequency bands.

Hardly any Crawling for LPDDR6 RAM Support

Samsung commissioned the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, which was said to have LPDDR6 RAM support. However, the leaked specification sheet does not confirm any of that. Instead, the Hynix UFS (Universal Flash Storage) 4.0 supporting read/write speeds of 4500MB/s (4.5 GB/s) and 4000MB/s (4 GB/s) will be used in the chipset. Adreno 830 GPU will be able to manage internal panels with maximum resolution up to 3,840 x 2,560 running at a 144Hz refresh rate. Although this falls under the 4K class, several clients of Qualcomm using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 AP, does not intend to market a device with 4K display.

Custom Qualcomm CPU Classies and Performance Hike

In terms of the technology utilized in Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, perhaps the most significant shift will be using custom Qualcomm CPU cores instead of sourcing them from Arm. Geekbench test results of the OnePlus 13 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 showed considerable improvement, giving a single-core score of 3,236 and a multi-core score of 10,049. This enhancement is a reflection of Qualcomm’s attempts to improve the effectiveness of its products through its own custom core development strategy.

TSMC Project System On Chip Package Integration Process N2E Process

For now, TSMC is fabricating the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset based on the second generation 3nm process node N3E. The chipset costs from one hundred and ninety to two hundred and forty dollars somewhere in the range.

Specifications of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4

The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 features two Oryon performance CPU cores that reach a maximum clock speed of 4.32 GHz, along with six Oryon low-power efficiency CPU cores clocked at 3.53 GHz. Qualcomm will officially unveil the chipset later this month at its Snapdragon Summit, an annual event held at the end of October.

Leaked specifications for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 promise significant improvements in performance, efficiency, and storage.

The primary objectives for designing the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 with the use of custom Qualcomm CPU cores and TSMC’s 3nm node will be enhancing the performance and efficiency of next year’s flagship devices, like the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
