Brands Refused Work After Zara Noor Abbas Became Pregnant

Lahore: Well-known Pakistani actress Zara Noor Abbas has made a revelation that sounds as Syco as it was before experiencing the pregnancy. The lady talked about her pregnancy discrimination and how she has been treated in such a rough way in the world of glam, which is known very little. She asserted such aspects of realities from the entertainment and modelling world.

Zara’s Open Conversation on a Podcast

Zara Noor Abbas recently took her frustration to a podcast and shared not only her career but a lot of details covering HER personal life. The conversation moved around many aspects, but one thing that I think stood out was Zara’s statement about Breastfeeding and how it affected her ability to build her career with some of the renowned fashion brands.

Taking a small pause because everybody just typically wants to patch out their experiences just on the screen made her dab into a world remapping the female body in Pakistan. In the interview, she said that the work opportunities became limited because of the baby. She then moved on to describe how cutting-edge fashion design and the entertainment world have stereotypes where women should at least reflect a ‘certain’ appearance to be earmarked for a target group marketing. According to her, this was very painful and quite shocking.

Pregnancy Caused Termination of Employment

During an interview, Zara said, “The first time I got pregnant, I was working for a well-known brand, with whom I had a formal contract. Everything was fine until that brand discovered my pregnancy.”

She said that they were also in a contract with her and terminated it as soon as they came to know about her expecting a baby. Zara further shared, “The brand refused to give me anything else, saying that since I am pregnant, I am probably not going to fall in your target market anyway.”

According to her, this was very bad discrimination as it seemed that women in the industry, more so in showbiz, were treated as even more people wouldn’t care about their talents or professions but rather how they looked.

Imbalance Between What is Given and What is Expectable From the Market

There is a sense that Zara challenged the brand and asked management why they did not want to work with her any longer when she could still perform her role. “I asked them, ‘Aren’t pregnant women allowed to put on makeup?’” she recounted. However, the answer to the question of the brand was distant and devoid of emotions. She remembers them saying to her, “You are not as slim as you used to be, so we are terminating the contact’.

In the world of acting, Zara voiced her dissatisfaction with. How did the company look at the issue of a woman expecting a child? They looked at it as a disadvantage. Zara pointed out how such pressures are not only extravagant. But also hurts women in the profession who want to combine both their private and working aspects.

Women in the Limelight and Awkwardness in Great Society

Zara’s revenge lesson highlights a broader problem in society and throughout the media system: abnormal appearance and sknormalizationion pressure. As well as the cut-off as soon as one does not meet. That appearance is not due to pregnancy or gaining weight. The sad reality is that brands and media create very rigid definitions of beauty, leading to the isolation of women.

Zara Noor Abbas’s story encourages society to democratize the acceptance of women in all the essential stages of their lives. Reproduction, parenting, postpartum, etc., and not discriminate against them or torturing about being inadequate.

Zara Noor Abbas Now Embarking on a New Journey in Her Career Life

There were so many hurdles to cross. But Zara Noor Abbas now turns her attention to her family life and the duties of the new mother. Zara and actor Asad Siddiqui’s lovely bundle of joy, Noor Jahan, was born on March 27, 2024. The pair remains in awe of the beautiful girl, and she continues to express herself. How deeply grateful they are that she is here.

As they say in the industry, ‘change starts with the women. Zara’s story has contributed to showing other women in the industry. How are a number of them discriminated against, and what is the importance of addressing this? As a woman, Paola’s story shows us that a woman’s worth goes beyond her superficial beauty. There is more to a woman’s emphasized looks. It is emphasized that a woman’s career should not be interrupted by pregnancy.

Zara Noor Abbas’s disclosure is a clear example of the realities women have to endure in sectors. Where their capabilities are usually overshadowed by their looks. It makes the case for how critical it is to re-establish unreasonable standards and enhance them. The position of females, especially in key transitions such as childbirth.
