Kamala Harris Arrives in Chicago for DNC Amid Tensions

 

Chicago’s Vice-President, Kamala Harris has arrived for the Democratic National Convention in Chicago . This is the time for Democrats to close out on November.

Arrival in Chicago Kamala Harris 

At O’Hare Airport, she landed upon Air Force Two after spending the entire day campaigning in Pennsylvania, a swing state critical alongside her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. In 2016 Donald Trump won that state and Joe Biden won it back in 2020. She is emphasizing the importance of Pennslyvania as a battlefield.

Tight Race in Swing States Kamala Harris 

A new poll from CBS News shows how competitive things are between Kamala Harris and her Republican opponent Donald Trump in three key swing states: Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin. Both candidates are doing their best to win these states. In her recent speech, Harris subtly attacked President Trump by implying that he operates through undermining others even if she never mentioned him directly.

Harris’s Remarks in Pennsylvania

In front of an audience composed mainly of her followers from across Pennsylvania, Kamala Harris spoke about what good leadership entails saying: “The real and true measure of the strength of a leader is based on who you lift up. Anybody who’s about beating down other people is a coward.” She clearly aimed the comment at her opponent’s verbal style rather than his name.

Security and Protests in Chicago

As Harris arrives in Chicago this week the city will be blanketed with political events. On Thursday evening which is when it’s going to happen Obama will make his keynote address accepting his nomination. The authorities have beefed up security at the convention venue due to anticipated large-scale protests. Pro-Palestinian demonstrators are expected to gather in Chicago. As the DNC begins. Highlighting deep rifts within the party concerning international matters.
