India blamed Pakistan for the recent protests in Bangladesh, but Pakistan denied this. During a media briefing, its foreign office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said there is no truth in those allegations and called them baseless accusations. She added that the people of Pakistan, as well as its government, share one familiar voice with the Bangladeshi nation while standing against such a claim that Indian media have made out of obsession against her perennial neighbor — India itself!
Diplomatic Relations
The conference also discussed the recent activities of Saudi Arabia’s deputy Prime Minister and foreign minister, Ishaq Dar, who attended the OIC Foreign Ministers’ Conference and visited Saudi Arabia. During his speech at Israel’s IC Conference, he highlighted Israel’s aggression in the Gaza Strip, thereby reiterating our stance on regional issues.
Kashmir Martyr Day
She also mentioned Kashmir Martyrs Day, observed last week in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), administered by Pakistan. This day is celebrated annually to honor those who sacrificed. Their lives in the freedom struggle for occupied Jammu & Kashmir. The spokesman rejected Indian claims linking the country with militancy across the Line of Control (LoC) against Indian forces stationed there.
Asif Merchant Case
US authorities currently detain American citizen Asif Merchant pending an investigation into possible ties between him and terror organizations worldwide; she told reporters that we had contacted the State Department asking them for details regarding this case, after which they assured us of full cooperation. So far, we have not received any updates. So we are looking forward to getting more information soon because. We want to ensure his rights are respected during the detention period.
Consular Access Provided
Regarding the maritime incident involving Pakistani detainees, the Indian side had confirmed consular access provisioned, thus ensuring proper monitoring and safeguarding the interests of these arrestees while staying behind bars until the trial completion stage.
Bangladesh Situation
Talking about Bangladesh’s situation, she reiterated positive relations between Islamabad and Dhaka while adding that the whole nation supports the Bangladeshi people wholeheartedly because this country has achieved many successes in various fields over the last few years, including socio-economic development.
