German Tourist Robbed and Attacked by Bandits in Lahore

 

A German tourist in Lahore was violently attacked and robbed by armed men, police say. Berg Florian, 27, was cycling through Pakistan when he set up camp on the roadside near the airport for the night. Two armed men approached him, severely beat him, and stole his belongings.

Details of the Robbery

According to the German tourist, during the robbery. The assailants forcibly took away an expensive mobile phone, cash & camera worth 500,000 PKR. Bystanders rushed Florian to Rangers Hospital after the assault for treatment of his injuries.

Police and Security Response

SP Cantt has started an investigation following a complaint lodged by a foreign tourist against unidentified persons who attacked him at night. DIG Operations Faisal Kamran sought a report on this matter and ordered the arrest of those involved, stating that strict action would be taken against anyone ruining the country’s reputation.

Florian’s incident is part of broader criminal activity in Lahore, where various crimes have surged recently across different parts, including:

  • Sattokatla: Family robbed of 300K Rs; jewelry & mobiles taken.
  • Iqbal Town: Individual robbed of 200k rs & a mobile phone
  • Mazang: Victim robbed of 200K Rs & a mobile phone.
  • Nolukha: Resident robbed of 100k rs & a mobile phone.
  • Hajriwal: A person loses a Hundred Thousand Rupees plus a cell phone.
  • Akbari Gate: One hundred thousand rupees plus cell phone stolen.
  • Nasirabad: One hundred thousand rupees plus cell phone stolen.

Also, vehicles and motorcycles were stolen from Model Town (cars) and Civil Lines Badami Bagh Kahnay Gwalamandi(motorcycles).
