Foreign Secretary Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi spoke to diplomats in Islamabad about the situation in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir regarding the fifth Youm-e-Istehsal. This program aimed to inform the world about what’s happening here and how it impacts regional stability.
India’s Actions
The Foreign Office statement quoted Qazi detailing India’s illegal actions and their severe consequences as of 5 August 2019. He talked about violations under international law, human rights, and peace and security perspectives. This briefing gave an extensive account of human rights violations in the area and worsening humanitarian conditions there.
International Law and Human Rights Perspective
Qazi pointed out that unilateral decisions made by India have dire consequences. Since they violate global laws and human rights conventions. These acts not only infringe upon Kashmiri people’s rights but also endanger South Asian peace and security significantly. Arbitrary detentions, enforced disappearances, and restrictions on freedom of expression. Are some examples he mentioned regarding specific instances involving these violations.
International Attention is Significant
In his address, the Foreign Secretary urged International Community members to recognize such situations. This compels them to exert pressure on India to comply with worldwide norms/obligations governing conflict resolution between parties involved peacefully, etc., besides advocating for Kashmiri people’s rights! He highlighted during this session that their moral responsibility lies somewhere else — preventing further regional abuses from occurring/being committed against individuals of different ethnicities/nationalities/religions, etc., all living together within one state or region (like South Asia).
Diplomatic Engagement
Pakistan aims to win international backing for its cause among local diplomatic circles by doing so repeatedly. Through engagement processes like briefing sessions where diplomats are reminded continuously about current affairs related specifically to J&K struggle against occupation forces led primarily through military rule imposed there since 1947 till the present day without any signs suggesting change may occur soon enough unless something drastic happens next month onwards when elections will be held again after five years gap period elapsed since last ones took place back then just before winter holidays started again early January 2021 due to COVID pandemic outbreak earlier last year thus postponing everything else until further notice given no choice left except wait patiently until things get better gradually over time eventually somehow someway who knows when exactly but not anytime soon unfortunately so sad.
