Naqvi Updates on IPPs, Balochistan Sit-In, and Ceasefire Efforts

Acting Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi recently addressed media reports in Islamabad, providing updates on various national and provincial issues. He highlighted his discussion with the Prime Minister about Independent Power Producers (IPPs). According to Naqvi, he has sent all relevant information on IPPs to the Prime Minister to ensure the government stays informed and involved in addressing these crucial energy problems. It is an expression of the government’s intent to tackle energy sector challenges.

Additionally, Naqvi highlighted PM’s proactive approach in dealing with the Ministry of Energy. Among other topics covered during his press conference, Naqvi also touched upon sit-ins in Baluchistan province. He noted that this issue has become a provincial subject matter thereby reflecting a functionally independent character of provinces when dealing with their internal matters. When discussing this issue, Naqvi revealed that provincial autonomy is very important as each province has its strategy or way of doing things when faced with similar situations. Respect for provincial autonomy also implies a commitment on the part of the federal government towards decentralization as well as empowering local governments.
