Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training and MQM Demands Pakistan Chairman, proposed an investigation committee on Independent Power Producers (IPPs). He said that Pakistan is not going through a financial crisis but a crisis of intentions.
Transparency and Accountability Drive
He demanded that all agreements be transparent and asked the IPP contracts be made public. He suggested setting up an investigation committee regarding IPPs while speaking at a scholarship award ceremony organized by the Pakistan Education Endowment Fund at the National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA) as chief guest.
Economic Challenges and Educational Endeavours
He acknowledged students’ role in promoting mental freedom and the arts through NAPA. Dr Siddiqui stated that education and research bring us closer to reality. Due to economic challenges, he feared underdeveloped nations might fall further behind over the next three decades. He said that in 50 years, our industrial base has been decentralized; however, with 180 million people and a youth bulge, we are confronted with economic problems.
Scholarship Distribution
Organizers held a significant scholarship distribution ceremony, distributing nursing and arts & culture scholarships among students. They awarded scholarships to 137 students from 18 training institutions across Sindh, which will undoubtedly profoundly impact their future. Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui also appreciated Karachi’s students for attending the successful youth convention held at Expo Center Karachi, terming this convention as a milestone in the politics of Karachi and the future prosperity of the city and country.
Youth Empowerment & Future Outlooks
Dr. Siddiqui stressed the importance of understanding artificial intelligence for the future. He highlighted that MQM Demands has provided a platform for Pakistani youth to stand on their feet through “Connect MQM”. He urged them to move beyond seeking jobs from others and instead focus on building self-sustaining businesses. This emphasis on youth empowerment carries the potential for significant positive change in the country.
Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui’s suggestion to establish an investigative committee regarding IPPs, besides insistence on transparency, manifests MQM Pakistan’s seriousness towards economic problems and youth-related educational and professional opportunities. Considering current difficulties, MQM wants to bring transparency and make people accountable so that they can work hard for their bright future.
