37 Killed in Gaza Bombing; Israel-Lebanon Tensions Escalate

In the last day, 37 people were killed due to Israeli bombing in Gaza. The relentless attacks worsened the humanitarian crisis already present there by raising the number of casualties among Palestinians and increasing the tally of those left injured.

Israel-Lebanon Rocket Trade: There has been an exchange of shelling between Israel and Lebanon after a rocket hit the Golan Heights. An Israeli died in a Hezbollah rocket attack while an Israeli airstrike killed one member of Hezbollah. This has inflamed tensions between both countries and sparked fears about more violence erupting.

Khan Younis Casualties: Since the launch of operations by Israel on July 22 in Khan Younis, 300 have been killed and over 1,000 wounded. Military activity still ongoing continues to ravage communities leaving many homes destroyed and families displaced. Immediate cessation of hostilities along with provision for affected areas with humanitarian relief is demanded globally.

Response from Druze community: Israel sought to use bodies of 12 young Druze children as a tool for revenge in Lebanon but leaders from within their own community insist that their blood should not be used as an excuse for another war. They not only rejected any retaliatory killings or wars according to their beliefs but also described Golan Heights as occupied territory saying they too are residents on Syrian land under Israeli occupation.

Casualty Report: At least 39,400 Palestinians have died and another 90,996 have been injured as a result of Israeli attacks according to Gazan Ministry Health figures. These unprecedented numbers reveal how grave this conflict is and call urgently upon international actors who can prevent further loss of lives through interventions.

Beirut Targeted Attack: An aim-directed military operation was performed by Israeli forces inside Lebanon’s capital city Beirut which targeted Hezbollah commander Mohsen Shukr. According to Israeli newspapers second most important leader Fawad Shukr was targeted but survived it; however one person died while another got injured during this incident. United States has said that Fawad Shukr played a key role in killing 241 US Marines therefore there is $5 million bounty on his head.

The international community must step in and act as a mediator for peace in the region, with Gaza’s violence and Israel’s exchange of fire with Lebanon serving as stark reminders of how fragile things are presently.
