Gandapur Fails to Appear in Court; Hearing Adjourned

Court’s Remarks and Exemptions

Magistrate Shaista Kundi emphasized that if there is nothing against him, Gandapur should show courage and record his statement under Section 342. She noted that while the Chief Minister may have many engagements, the court also has its duties. She suggested that Gandapur provide an undertaking specifying when he will appear in court. Gandapur’s lawyer requested a date of September 4, citing the Chief Minister’s participation in a Jirga in the Kurram district. The court directed Gandapur to ensure his presence for the statement and adjourned the hearing until September 4.
